...and its not really holding up tbh.

i dont remember much from the game but i remember liking it, but not caring about the story. anyways i just met up with yen and i just answered all the questions to simulate the older games.

not really being grabbed or engrossed into the story immediately. not a huge fan of geralt so far and personally just not a fan of his voice acting. sex stuff feels lame. controls feel janky and unwieldy. the menus are not great and kinda annoying to navigate at least so far. the freedom of exploring the open world and just doing side quests seems like the main pull to me but i had so little of that before being sucked into story stuff again and honestly i feel like i could get more enjoyment out of most open world games that have come after witcher 3.

i understand it was a big influence on the genre, but i think, at least to me, its just not holding up. dont know if im going to keep going with my play through much longer if it doesnt really pull me in soon...

I feel the same way and I've put in 60 hours. The story and choices you make are great but the rest of the game feels dated and I hate how the controls feel, way to floaty.

I also really dislike the mixing of high level quests and enemies on the map, I gotta really look for quests at my level to level up and the whole map is just so clustered.

I thought it was solid, but not the best game ever. It has a wide breadth of decent story content (although the main story falls off in act 3 imo). That's really what people want to emulate in other games I think.

I don't think a lot of games after upped the bar. Most games are still doing soulless repetitive side quests.

Witcher 3 has amazing storylines and sidequests but I always thought it was bloated, crafting was mostly pointless, gear hunting was mostly pointless, it never ended, and the combat is pretty bad in the series as a whole.

I don't think it's that bad, but it definitely gets old in a fraction of the total story pay time.

I'm biased because I'm a fantasy fan. So Lord of the rings and even Harry Potter, I like. So witcher 3 is right up my alley.

On the other hand, I'm not sure if I'll like cyberpunk 2077.

I do however quite interested in the distopian future setting. I enjoyed the movies total recall (1990), blade runners, dredd (2012) ghost in the shell anime movie etc

i like it mostly because of the world itself and being able to explore it.

dont really care about the main story that much tbh.

i dont mind fantasy. some is pretty cool. but for some reason i just dont care about this world/story yet. maybe that will change. and yeah... idk how to put it but some of it just feels.. lame. lol

but yeah the controls and menus are still really annoying. gonna give it a couple more sessions but i might end up just dropping it for something else idk yet

i just got back in the open world now so hopefully ill enjoy it more now that its opened up a little bit
