Both are 70. Mom has mild COPD, dad had an heart attack couple of years ago, slight heart failure, diabetes type 2, overweight, he has also smoked on and off in his years, but stopped when he had his heart attack. I'm really not ready for this and it's stressing me.

I'm concerned about my parents too. They're getting up there in age, and I don't want them to catch Coronavirus or another illness.

Same here. But you have to keep in mind that the death rate for elders still isn't that high. It's around 15 percent unless something has changed. That is bad, but it's not that bad

I know, but both my parents have illnesses that will make them high risk patients.

I think that's still around the rate even with illnesses. You can check that world of meters website to have a look

Isn't your boyfriend up there in age too?

He is 62, but in good shape and no known serious diseases. He is a smoker tho.

Yeah man me too. My parents are both in their late 70's. My mom has been a chain smoker all her life and hasn't been to the doctor in years, and my dad is a cancer survivor with diabetes.

I also have 2 mentally and physically handicapped siblings who basically rely on my mom for everything and will be absolutely devastated when she passes.

You're telling me? My dad is on a transplant list and the doctor said they could call him anytime 2 months ago, and they already called him once but the organ was bad. This epidemic is absolutely terrible for our family at this time.

I already lost my dad in January, now I'm worrying about my mom and brother. My mom is 62 and has numerous autoimmune diseases and is on immunosuppressants. My brother is 29 and he had cancer in 2002 and they couldn't take out the entire brain tumor, so they had to bombard him with everything and now his immune system is compromised.

Yay?

:(

The only way we're leaving the house is if the Adirondacks don't get hit and I take them both up there to camp this shit away.

Sucks so much. Forgot to mention my dad recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, and he has to go for testing on 25th to know how dangerous it is. Thing is, that might get postponed by then, if not, it's very dangerous to go to the hospital right now, so he has to choose risk of infection or risk of delaying the treatment of the cancer. And even if test goes well, no infection, there is no idea when he could get the treatment.

Damn that terrible, I hope things won't hit so hard.

Sorry for your loss friend. These are hard times, we've got to stay positive and not get divided.
