Just saw an old wartime poster from Canada that punished food hoarders with a $100-$1000 fine or three months in prison.

where the hell is that policy now? it sounds reasonable to me. it beats forced rationing to simply punish assholes rather than everyone

Im not sure if it was federal or provincial, but Id bet they never got rid of that law. Might be worth looking into.

One store near me was out of TP and bread. The shop right next door however had everything and was smaller.
