Yes and no.

You kinda gotta eat/have shelter.

+ and - extra depending on whether you have dependents and how many people you come in contact with at work and how likely they are to be in a at risk population.

The real villian is Congress/companies for not giving much better sick leave

Disgusting. Though I do agree there should be some measures to protect businesses from the sudden added expense when the economy is in shambles.

Focusing more on smaller businesses. Walmart and the like can eat the cost and fuckin like it.

bullshit -- you have this idea where responsibility over your actions is ever handed off. nope. if you know that what you're doing can spread an illness and kill other people, you need to not do it.

If you can't read.

If you are willingly infecting people will a deadly disease you are being so incredibly negligent your coworkers should be able to press charges.

There is 0 reason to intentionally spread a deadly disease. Just like there is 0 reason for your employer to fire you for protecting your coworkers.

Whether you like it or not this is the reality you live in. Wishing on a star isnt going to change it and as shown in this election cycle trying to change it politically isnt going to either. Your best bet is to do what you can to survive.

i never said it was okay to be fired for getting sick. reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

i said that choosing to get fired over spreading a disease is the right choice.

i'll slow it down for you. i think companies should be forgiving of their employees if they don't want to spread this thing. because that's ethical. i can't believe i have to explain this.

all I'm saying is that blaming the employee and not the employer/corporation/politicians is exactly the type of shit the latter relies on to make situations like this possible in the first place

do you want this to not happen again? start attacking the ones responsible, not the ones that are forced to play their rigged game to survive.

I'm certain that employers firing workers on the basis of staying home sick during a worldwide pandemic calls for discriminatory legal action, not just filing for unemployment.

That's just my assumption I don't really know.
