My job only offers PTO to cover vacation, sick, and personal time. You start out with two weeks a year, which you start accruing on your first day. It takes a little over a month to have enough to take one day off and if you go negative in your first 90 days you get a write up.

So, everybody comes to work sick and spreads their diseases because they either don't have enough time off built up or they're saving it for a vacation.

It fucking sucks.

Edit: oh, and you can only take PTO in four hour increments. Off at 6 and have an appointment at 5:30? Can't just take the last hour. Gotta take four.

I've been here long enough that I get five weeks a year so it's no big deal for me, but it fucking sucked ass those first couple of years.

"I was probably exposed to somebody who was sick and later quarantined but I'll not say anything in case the government doesn't find out" and they do have it and then spread it.

And in America. No insurance through your workplace but they need a doctor's note if you're out sick.

Do people really not have emergency savings accounts? I thought the general rule was you keep a 1.5 years worth of your salary in a savings account so in the case of an emergency you have money to live off of? This is something I thought everyone did I actually saved up 2 years salary just to be a little extra safe.
