Hooded with mask looks the best. Adam Driver looks goofy on his own and the mask just looks okay by itself.

I like the hood with the mask. I like his obsession with trying to be like his grandfather. it's a good character trait to me. Kylo Ren was the most interesting person in the new trilogy

Is Driver that much of an egomaniac that he had to show his face throughout the movie? I get the whole point that deep down he's a dorky kid trying to emulate Darth Vader. But I wish they saved the reveal of his face for the end of the movie...like they did with Vader...and the Mandalorian. --- Perfectly balanced. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Showing his face early made it easier for the audience to understand that he's absolutely NOT Vader, and would never properly be Vader. --- I write Naruto Fanfiction. The Kylo Ren unmasking scene was one of my favorite film moments of last decade.
It was when his whole character changed and we realized he wanted so badly to be a bad guy when that's just not who he is. He was just scared and frustrated and didn't know how to deal with it. I go into Star Wars dumb kid excited, and I swear the helmet was designed for me to callback Vader, think it's cool on Vader's basis, and then the twist makes it so I realize it was always dumb. 7 was good, 8 was almost evenly good and lolawful, and I haven't bothered to see 9. Not even saying the first was entirely clever, but the thing with Kylo Ren is totally clever.
