By all accounts they're similar in that they're "outsiders" migrating into the galaxy They've already been mentioned in canon in one of the Thrawn books but their name escapes me rn I'm guessing we're getting at the point where they'll start lifting things from the old EU they liked and change things around a bit since the ST is done? Sounds like they've made Revan canon recently.
