Today i want to discuss the broly movie with another piece of important media. The bible. There is no arguing that both worls of fiction are held in high regard Giving rise to cult like followings of nations, but, is goku a better developed character than than jesus himself? While goku is sometimes written as inconsistent, his character in broly is exemplified by his counter, vegeta. Playful but serious when needed. Sadly, the same cannot be said for jesus. While he does boast some impressive power, Jesus does not have a red oni to his blue oni. He has no counter balace. Satans power level is not believably close enough to jesus to be his opposite, as vegetas is to gokus. Jesus doesnt really have an arc at all. The playfulness of goku is explicitly mirrored by his willingness to become serious, even noting a deepening of his voice in the english dub. Neither the sub or the dub of the bible give jesus any such depth, it shows no growth. How can an all powerful character be relateable if he has no flaws? This lessens the impact of his death later in the bible. So when comparing these two, I have to say that Son Goku is a better written character than Jesus of Nazareth.
