yea but Turkey is the center piece there. "A Christmas Ham" is a big thing. Some have Ham without any other meats.

Pretty much similar dishes unless your family or friends change it up. I think it's a seasonal thing, like cooking similar thing for Memorial Day and Independence Day.
But I'd say the desserts are mainly different, in my experience anyway.

we've done many different things. ham was the go to for many years. lasagna, shrimp and crab boils, and brisket has been on the menu the last few years.

The meat products usually stays the same.

It's the sides that might change.

Like apple and pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and cherry pie for Christmas.

Haha. I'm not a guy that can afford steak regularly. And it's more of a summer thing we do here. But once summer comes back around, I'll get back to it. I actually forgot, so thanks for reminding me.

Most of the stuff my family eats is the exact same as thanksgiving. Smoked turkey (and/or fried turkey if my uncle feels like doing it that year), candy yams, macaroni and cheese, collard greens w/ either turkey necks or bacon mixed in for flavor, potato salad, homemade stuffing (the good stuff with the chicken gizzards mixed in. Yessir. My aunt used to make this version of stuffing that had some brocolli and a little cheese, oysters, and shrimps mixed in it....good lord I miss it, =( ), glazed ham, cranberry sauce (we only eat this at christmas), some homemade red velvet cake and sweet potato pie.

4th of july and memorial day is when we go all out on the grill.

Also, I kind of agree turkey. I can only eat it in 3 ways.....smoked on the grill (charcoal smoking. Can't stand gas grills. Hank hill can go kick rocks, lol), deep fried, or cooked in a pressure cooker. Any other way tends to be too dry for me.

The cliche is just do Thanksgiving again but my family doesn't really stick to that.

My grandparents usually do Thanksgiving 2.0 but my parents will sometimes do breakfast for dinner, or one of the family favorite dishes like my mom's beef tips and rice, or this year she's just gonna make a big pot of chili.

With Mrs. DevsBro's family, there's no telling, lol. My mom-in-law used to do breakfast Xmas day but she eventually became too crazy to do it anymore so for a few years we went out for Chinese on Xmas Eve, and the last few years we just got some basic snacks at a relative's house, until said relative got too old to host so now we get to decide the new tradition, or lack thereof. We were just talking today about whether to keep it traditional or do something different.

yea in our family its usually a bunch of cultural foods (indian) and then like some sort of mashed potatoes/roast chicken + lasagna or something situation....everyone just makes whatever we'd have at a typical pot luck and brings it. there's no special dinner we make.

Ham
MeatLoaf
Roast Beef
Lasagna
Turkey for some reason (never understood this)

Personally I go Italian on Christmas like manicotti, lasagna, ravioli, stuffed shells, etc. something you dont normally make; or is like a once a year thing.

Turkey/Ham, same for Thanksgiving, is what my experience has been.

I think once we had pot roast for thanksgiving and another time the neighbor's oven went out so we got to cook their turkey too(think it was christmas).
