I played and liked every twisted metal. 3 and 4 weren't as good as 2, but still fun to play and try out the different characters

2 is the best but 3 is my favorite, i have a lot of nostalgia in that game. also it had a GOAT 90s soundtrack with Rob Zombie and Pitchshifter. my go-to character was Warthog

I remember 3 being too easy and 4 being WAAAAYYYY too long. I think in 4, they had a boss for every level and the levels were massive for no reason.

Once SingleTrac stopped making games for them the series changed for the worst and lost its luster. If you wanted good car combat post TM2 you got Rogue Trip. Vigilante 8 was okay but wasn't as fun TM2 was.

4 was fun with the customization available for creating a vehicle. Had some fun stages some not

I remember enjoying TM4 over TM3. The cars just handled so badly in 3. 2 was far and away the best PSX Twisted Metal game though.

But Black was my favourite of the series. Even though it was hard as hell.

TM4 had awesome levels and vehicles. I don't know why it isn't as fun as TM2 though.

Black when you had a multitap and 4 people playing at the same time.....epic. So many awesome memories on that game.

Oh yeah! Rouge Trip was great and it carried over the humor of TM2, but zanier. I dug the tourist aspect as well. That game was full of character. Also Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

Vigilante 8 was overrated back then I felt. The gameplay itself was kind of a step down from TM2, but people were more enthralled by the graphics and physics of the game at the time.

I thought so too. I remember as a kid being disappointed by it and asking my parents if I could return it. They said no lol. But I still played and learned to appreicate it somewhat. It had style and messing around with bot options was neat (WOW SCHOOL BUS BATTLE ROAYLE) but the floaty controls and how the meta was spamming homing weapons was kinda sloppy trash. Cool you like Rouge Trip too, I wonder how many people played it back in the day. Seems like a forgotten gem.

3 & 4 were my introduction to TM. Going back to 2 felt like a downgrade. Less characters, smaller levels, a bit more goofy. Part of why I like 4 and LOVE Black is because of their brooding, overwhelmingly dark and serious tone.

I couldn't enjoy 3. The cars all felt very hard to control, the teleporting when you got upside down was laughable, and the characters were awful.

4 however is one of my personal favorites. The specials are awesome (Warthog/Calypso), I enjoyed create a car for what it was, and the soundtrack was really good. I think this one is still underrated to this day, it's a great game.

I got 3 with my playstation for christmas, I think it was good enough

I liked 3 better than 4, but loved 2 and black the best. TM on ps3 was p solid, but couldve used more characters.

I loved all the PS1 Twisted Metal games, even Small Brawl. 3 and 4 felt different but that's because they were done by 989. They were noticeably easier than 1 and 2 as well imo.

The attempted reboot on PS3 whatever year that was should have been so much better. Now the series is dead probably forever.

Club Kid was also my pick, also when ever you got damaged the smiley face frowned which I thought was a nice touch.

He had a really awesome special but you always ended up blowing yourself up.
