I know most banks get the money late on Thursday or something, which then makes it available friday morning, but most banks will probably be closed on black friday or operating with minimal staff, and with Thursday being Thanksgiving, it seems like it would make sense for paychecks to be available on Wednesday

we have to plan ahead of every future bad outcome :(.
one day we have issues with the dog and a vet bill comes up or another where somebody loses a job and have to come up with the rent so we don't get kicked out.

both ways we're fucked due to not having savings.

this is more of a "I'm gonna go buy something at a pre black friday" sale

i've been waiting to buy gas too so the authorization comes off when i have a paycheck in my account. Don't get me wrong, I have more than enough to cover it, hell just a few bucks would be more than enough to get me through the week, but since they take forever to fully charge my debit card, might as well abuse it. By my calculations, filling up tomorrow will work

Unfortunately there is no universal answer for this. It depends on your employer. If you call your HR department, they should be able to tell you.
