My friend scoped it out in my change, I forgot all about it this thing as well as me not being very good at state quarter varieties in general(kansas "in god we rust" and wisconsin extra leafed corn stalk come to mind)

It is a 1999 P Delaware "spitting horse" variety. You can see it with the naked eye just barely, though a scope(10x) reveals it is the spitting horse. Hidden in plain site.

There is a picture below but basically on these varieties, at the tip of the horses mouth on the obverse side there is a die crack error shooting outward, hence "spitting horse". You can tell it is a die crack error and not post mint damage because most PMD go inward, ie a scratch or gouge whereas a die crack goes outward, because of a crack in the die that "stamps" the coins into place, it gets filled up with material.

So, what's it worth? at the high end, if its a nice coin and the line is long enough to cut through the text "ceasar rodney" or reach the rim, $20. For mine? with a medium sized peni- i mean die crack and in average circulated condition for a $20 year old quarter? maybe 5 bucks.

Oh yeah I love me some weed but nah son we talkin' 'bout numismatics(leh nerd skin nerd)

Yeah, I forgot about this variety, but my variety knowledge isnt that great. it isnt worth a ton of money but still neat to find. I'd be better at varieties if I knew how many there were but a lot of times the number isn't really known, so I dont know if im looking for a handful of examples out of a million/billion coins made, or thousands. if I had a more precise number i'd be more inclined to check, because some varieties are really just a handful out of the millions or billions minted that year.

There are a ton of penny varieties, the most well known being the 1955 Double Die Obverse(DDO), to where remembering them all would painful. There are several quarter varieties as well, mostly in the state quarters.
