Toss up between lettuce and tomatoes.

Lettuce sucks because it tastes like nothing, adds a bunch of height, and makes your burger slide apart.
Tomatoes suck because fast food/restaurant tomatoes are almost always pale and mealy and they just make your burger drippy and gross.

Sun dried tomatoes are A+ though.

Out of these choices, never had jalapeos in a burger, so I voted that, because I don't see myself eating a burger that has that in it.. I like jalapeos, but in a burger? sounds weird

Definitely pickles. I hated onions when McDonald's was the main burger place I went to, but it compliments the burger well at other places.

This. Sure, the fresh crunch is there but that's where my pickles have it checked and extra flavor and texture. Lettuce is my least used topping.

I used to hate pickles about 2 or 3 years ago, then I ate a hamburger with some sneaked in pickles and it was damn good. The sourness of the pickles really adds to it, somewhat similar to how jalapenos sharp tanginess adds to the burger too. HOWEVER, a standard generic pickle from mcdonalds yuck. Get that shit off my burger. I'll still give it a try on most burgers and if I don't like it I'll take the pickles out, but if I find those god pickles on my burger again I'll happily eat it as is.

This was easy: I detest raw tomatoes. Maybe an actually good tomato would be good.

Pickles can be really good, but it can't be just any pickle: a mediocre pickle is just going to drag the burger down to its level.

Lettuce is utterly inoffensive. It brings nothing to the table, but doesn't take anything away. It's there, or it isn't, and it never really matters. That bit of green can be nice aesthetically though.

Onions, well, I really don't like raw onions. Pickled onions, caramelized onions, onion strings, and fried onions though? Yes. Please.

Jalapenos are good if they're part of a theme, but I don't know that I would slap them on a "standard" burger. Still good on balance though.
