Costco is willing to go to extreme lengths to keep its prized rotisserie chickens at $4.99.

For the past few years, it's been recruiting farmers in Nebraska and recently opened a sprawling, $450 million poultry complex of its very own in Nebraska.
Costco (COST) sold 91 million rotisserie chickens last year, more than double the number from a decade prior.

Yeah and they're typically not as big or tasty as Costco's. It's almost worth the price of membership by itself imo.

Meat should cost next to nothing, the farming process should be automated, robots can raise livestock. Yes, a few farmers will lose their jobs but society having a lower cost of living is a justifiable result. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
