Something happens at work and you lose your job - like most millennials you're probably living paycheck to paycheck. You go to apply for jobs and see that 500 other people applied as well. It's not far off.

Remember even if you aren't living paycheck to paycheck, most landlords will evict you as soon as they find out you're jobless. And with rent/mortgages increasing drastically every year, basically no amount of emergency fund can cover you when it takes forever to get a job because 500 other people are applying for it

No they wont. Most landlords arent going to evict you unless you stop paying them or unless they find you doing something illegal. As long as the money is coming in on time, they dont care
