Yikes, that would be up there with the top 5 or so most days of bandwidth I've ever see someone pull.

I did 1.2TB in a day once when my HDD crashed and I scheduled my entire steam library to be downloaded after I replaced it. I had 400Mbps and it took the entire day.

600GB in a day takes effort.

I know some modems count client to client transfers across the LAN as data downloaded, not just internet to client transfers, wonder if that happened.

I pay $160 for 300 down and no cap from Cox and it's overall been an awful fucking experience. No cap takes away some of the headache but paying $50 extra for it is complete bullshit.

I would change providers but the rest of them in the area suck ass.

Yeah, an ISP did get in trouble for that, I think it was Comcast? ISPs are so brazenly corrupt I'm sure they'd love for it to "accidentally" happen some more

where i live they have a monopoly too, unless you want to live off mobile data.

its the only thing i can think but everything is pw secured.

when i get home ill check the network activity log and see if anything suspicious is going on. i cant imagine someone figured out my password and did all of that in one day.

i need to see if i can have the mobile app alert me if any new IP or MAC tries to connect

Yeah, in Austin, TX you either get AT&T or Spectrum unless Google Fiber has rolled out to where you live or you live in an area where Grande has service.

ISPs are basically local monopolies in the US. Theres generally 1-2 choices depending on where you live. And thats by their design.

Yep, and they will actually sue cities that try to provide their own internet services at better prices and higher speeds.

There's no monopoly.

Between all the regulatory capture, mergers and economies of scale (even Google gave up), there's nothing remotely "free" about this market. Look, I don't think ISPs are evil (despite how much I enjoy making fun of them), but... there's some seriously corrupt maneuvering going on at the top level.
