Met a Corporate Recruiter at a business dinner party yesterday night who was telling other Staff Recruiters that the only mandatory time you should respond back to the person they interviewed was when you want to give them a job offer. He then said stupidly, "Otherwise they should get the gist that we didn't hire them. It's a waste of our time having to send an email to each and every person, you all have way better things to do then telling jobless people they didn't get the job" while laughing at the same time. Like I swear he sounded like those over the top evil teachers from a 90's kids movie or something. I first thought he was joking, until I learned that is what he literally does, he would either completely ignore or spam any emails that came at him asking for an update on the interview process. When I told him how fucked up that was, he responded to me "Well I think it's worst having to tell them up front that they didn't get the job, at least my way of doing things gives them hope." I swear if we weren't at a professional event, I would've punched this guy in the fucking face.

Meeting guys like him really makes me appreciate that I got my job through networking with a Senior Manager and not having to go through a recruiter. I really feel for those of you guys who get ghosted after an interview.
