Barebones:

Quality chefs knife.

Quality full stainless steel pan

Large, heavy cutting board

Large sheet pan

Wooden spoon.

From there it just depends on what you want to do.

Disagree, we have one and honestly I end up making rice on the stove still cause its fucking rice it's not hard. Also its easier to cook it to the exact right texture and I usually toast anyway when I do spanish rice

Well, I have a cast iron pot with lid, can basically do everything a cast iron pan does.

I do have a cast iron pan, but its not the usual kind, its thinner and doesnt handle same temps.

I dont have that but its my planned next kitchen gadget. Ive seen reviews about some really good ones so yeah, you need to use good equipment.
