They come out at E3 and make a big deal of it. Existing Gold subscribers get an automatic conversion to Game Pass (which could explain the whole $1 deal they've been doing) and Game Pass Ultimate replaces Gold with xCloud.

It's probably wishful thinking but I think it makes sense. It's either happening then or never.
