Termite swarmers are damn annoying, as is having your house eaten. I only picked them because ants aren't there.

In short they're drawn to electrical equipment/devices, build colonies in them, die and destroy the device. Displace all other ant species in the area and are immune to fire ants. They're also harder to control/remove than fire ants. They also run around 24/7 as if you've blown on them in a random frenzy as their default.

That's why seeing them in Ant Man bothered me so much. They're hoodlums

Damn. Basically when those ants die via electrocution, other bugs come to help fight off the attacker. So they also bite down on the electrical device and die themselves. Keeps happening until the entire colony electrocutes themselves or until the device is short circuited.

Yeah, it reminds me of that one scene in Mom and Dad save the world with the light grenade or a quote from Tremors 2. "You mean they've been acting so smart because they're so stupid?"

The electric device can range from game console, computer/laptop, tv, breaker/fuse box, water well pumps, etc. Basically anything with a current going through it in some form.

There was a video where someone got them in their laptop and brought them home. They didn't realize it or understand the why. Literally a case of 'you should probably just destroy the laptop and your room' because they were starting to roam. Don't know if he solved it or got over ran.
