I've always been cynical of people who are obsessed with "winning" discussions.
Expressing ideas is great and learning things is how we develop. There's little better than mashing thoughts into a marketplace of ideas and maintaing the best while disposing of the worst. Especially when you consider WHY you like the ideas/arguments and what makes them strong to you. IDK if it's winning but that's a component. there's just this alpha IQ energy from certain posts and it's rare but I get giddy when I see it

i like the posters who just call their opposition "racist" and then be done with it and never post in the topic again, those are the real winners. Everybody with sense knows that.
