Yeah, the second movie is rather blatant about it from the signs on the feminine leading male (no girls allowed), to the board game he has in his closet called "probe", to the S&M gay club scene and scene afterwards with the gym coach in the shower, to his constant rejection of the lead female and instead opting to hang out with his hunky male friend while complaining about how another man (Freddy) is inside of him.

Less subtext and more plain ol' text.

A fact that's well-documented. It's been confirmed by people involved in the making of the movie. Nobody who really knows anything about this movie would argue otherwise, so I have to assume you're going out of your way to be a contrarian troll.

IIRC the actor who plays the lead was gay and the gay subtext was completely intentional and he played the character as a teen questioning his sexuality
