2016 and 2 are two of my favorite games this gen. You can play most of the content from 2016 in 2 via DLC, if that interests you.

If you like that, you will like this. There are a couple gameplay changes, mostly new tools to use, and I think the mission design has been sharpened a bit here, but it's a refinement of the formula rather than something wildly new.

What shocked me straight when i looked at the steam page, is the fact that it contains the ENTIRE first game (AKA First Season) but enhanced

So if you own Season 1 (Hitman 2015) then you get ALL the same maps in Hitman 2, and you dont have to buy Hitman 2 to access that...

I dont have the GOTY pack, (only full experience) but that was a bit of a shocker

Can also just buy the Season 1 pack seperately if you want to (not as expensive anymore cause duh)

I dont think ive seen any devs do something like THAT before. Best comparison is Xenoverse 2 Parallel Quests, but that was more or less just PQs ported from XV1-XV2, and then they added a few more (more with dlc)

This is a tricky question at the moment: if you're buying them right now without DLC, Hitman 2016 might feel like a more complete game, in that it has all the content that's been added over the last two years: bonus missions and escalations and user-made contracts, plus the polish of bug fixes and such. That stuff hasn't yet filled out Hitman 2; there are a couple multiplayer modes but they're kinda bare-bones still, with only one map for each. That's kinda the nature of a games as a service type game, even though it's no longer episodic.

In terms of the main 6 missions in each game, which is really the meat of things, I think Hitman 2's are, on average, better, and the small changes they've made to the gameplay are changes for the better. They aren't leaps and bounds better, and there are a couple smaller missions that I'd rank alongside the bottom end of 2016's missions, but the peaks are higher. Of course, you can get the 2016 missions in Hitman 2 as DLC, and having all that stuff together in the same menu is super cool.

I think when all is said and done, Hitman 2 will be a better game than 2016, but I can see why people wouldn't think it is just yet.

Yeah, there's a campaign called the Sarajevo Six. From what I've read, most people feel the missions are kinda weak, but I play on Xbox so I couldn't say.

I've been playing the old levels more than the new ones. I don't really know why. I still got the last level to go story wise, but I keep going back and playing old missions.
