He was the #5 runner up, just below Moon Jae-In the President of South Korea who got North Korea to agree on denuclearization, has opened NK to meetings, and managed to have a United Korean Team for the Olympics.

While Ryan Coogler made a movie about a comic book character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

The steady stream of cold piss that's been streaming down the collective media's pants for the last 10 months over that movie is embarrassing. They just don't have any self awareness to realize it.

It's a super hero movie. Not even the best one of this year. Featuring the most boring and underwritten lead for a movie like that in recent memory. In a thoroughly average plot with a slightly above average motivation for it's villain.
Does it even need to be said? But because it was a black superhero. There can't possibly be enough slobbering over any and all involved.

Yes I realize that. But people are acting like he only directed a comic book movie. He actually does humanitarian work.

Why not? It's not about being the most humanitarian. It's not about being the most successful. It's about impact in whatever form it takes. And Black Panther did have a massive impact with ticket sales and awards.

Murderous dictators have won Person of the Year. It's not a positive award by default.

Is visiting criminals in prison really a net positive on the karma scale though?

The kind of people that are upset over Black Panther or Ryan Coogler receiving accolades are not actually worried about the integrity of various awards. I mean, come on. Assuming you are not racist, is this really the hill you want to die on?

You don't think mentoring incarcerated youth is a worthwhile act?
