So me and my partner were technically were working but in a plain clothes capacity. I'm actually in a lgbqt center doing like community service basically. Helping out the community liaison with the lgbqt people to build bridges and stuff.

We came back from lunch and were getting out of the car and saw a black lady and dude talking super loud. I was like whatever couples fight. Then he began to beat on her and drag across the street. I booked it across the street with my gun drawn and took him in custody and called my officers line since I was technically logged on and they sent some units towards. It was his third conviction so it was a felony domestic battery arrest

Why did you draw your gun and not shoot? Ive heard that American police officers are only supposed to draw their weapons if they are going to use them.

I only drew it since I was plain clothes didnt have any other tool. I probably would have used verbal commands and a taser if I was on duty. But since he was actively beating someone, if a guy wearing a my hero academia shirt approached him bare handed he probably would have started beating me too. As soon as I had him in custody I put my gun away
