with the simpler play style and on the Switch instead of a hand held I bet they could fit all 7 regions in the game and all thousand or whatever pokemon. maybe still start in Pallet town, but once you finish Kanto, you still have 6 more regions to conquor

The amount of content isn't the problem. It's the dumbed-down gameplay.
