I remember seeing a clip of some prime minister of UK debate. and they had like 5 people on stage. 2 choices is shit. that's how you get all that "lesser of 2 evils bullshit" and it just sucks when there is only 2 choices. I wish liberterians and greens were capable of winning too. and we had 4 normal viable parties. that would be cool.

We've only got two major ones here, but the government is proportional rather than winner-takes-all so third parties still get a say, and the major parties almost always need to work with them to actually govern, which keeps them in check a bit.

We've had literally one election where a major party had enough votes to rule alone; and even in that case they still formed a coalition with a couple of minor ones, presumably to keep on their good sides for next time they need them. Unfortunately for them, all but one of the said minor parties didn't get a single seat in the following election, with that one only getting one single seat, not nearly enough to secure victory for the relevant major party.
