I work in a home help service for the people who have dementia (that still live in their own homes).

My boss has been on me that Im not delivering enough time, that means Im not doing the time that has been planned on me. This is difficult at times.

But now Ive found out that my coworkers cheat they register time wrong with purpose so it looks good.

This has given us more money and resources to have more staff and time to take care of our patients.

But this sucks since Ive gotten shit from my boss and I could not understand why, I had tried so hard to do the time I was planned.

My dilemma is on what I should do.

I could report this, but it would make everything worse and in the end make it worse for the ppl we take care of.

Or I cheat too and Im gonna feel bad about this and stressed.

Or change job. I dunno.

Fuck this shit

Chances are your boss is just hinting at you to do the same. Might be not tho

depends on the damage the cheating causes.

in business/institutions it almost always is caught at some point by reviews or audits.

if you like the job and have no connections to your coworkers then report it to a superior.

if you like your coworkers then talk to them about it first.

if it all stresses you out this much just quit.

It's a municipality controlled thing. So it's tax money.

it will be audited

how egregious is the cheating? are they adding hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to billing?

This is why socialism doesn't work. It inevitably results in people cheating with the taxpayer's money.

I dunno what all that means. There really isn't any way they can actually find this out.

We use these electric pens. You click with the pen on start at the door of the person we take care of on a strip that's been put there. You do the stuff, then when you leave you click on the end, with the pen. But if you do things outside the home, for example throw garbage, you can click on a card with start and end, on the end when you finished the task. But I heard coworkers would click on the end later than they should.

Also another thing. We can't register any time when we fill up gas on cars. But people do this while they go and shop groceries for the patients, so they fill up gas on the cars on the patient's time. Generating more time and getting us more money.

There isn't any way they can control this.

It's hard to explain in English and stuff.
