Weighing in on the latest? You guessed it: O.J. Simpson. TMZ caught up with the convicted armed robber and Buffalo Bills great on Wednesday, and asked Simpson what he thought about Cosbys sentence. I dont know anything about the case, I didnt follow it, he said. He did, however, express concern for Cosbys well-being, saying the disgraced comedian should be placed in protective custody, otherwise he could be attacked. It takes one nut, you know, Simpson warned. The problem is the nature of the crime. You know rapists are frowned upon in prison. I think they should have let him do his time under house arrest, Simpson stated, noting Cosbys age and health. Simpson spent nine years behind bars after he was convicted of a 2007 armed robbery in Las Vegas. Simpson was sentenced in 2008 to 33 years in prison, but the Nevada Parole Board granted him his release in July 2017. The athlete, who also co-starred in the Naked Gun movie trilogy, was famously acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman in the mid-1990s. While he was later found liable for their deaths in a civil case, the jurors in the criminal trial found him not guilty. Perhaps not surprisingly, Simpson respected the Cosby jurors decision as well.
