Over time, smartphones have gotten simpler and smaller, and thus their resource consumption has decreased. The same is true of electronics devices in general. Or solar, which employs a ton of Americans and is a growing industry. It is predicated on building long lasting solar paneps that replace the need to burn coal. Rinse and repeat.
