I am married and fostered 3 toddlers.

I am a senior university official, own a laser tag center, and just got my doctorate.

I play soccer with my girls to help their game when they play during the season. I take my family bike riding on the weekends.

My wife and I do stuff with friends all the time. Sometimes we bring the kids with us and they play with their kids. Sometimes we hire a babysitter.

You make it sound much harder than it is.

I spent most of my 20's trying to get my career, which I'm glad I did because I settled into something that pays relatively well. I could start a family and not be in financial ruin as most people seem to think that happens when you have a kid, but being a father was something I never really wanted to be. People say that you don't just desire to be a parent, but I find that bullshit. I'm more the type that believes that it'll happen if I'm meant to be one.

People find my way of thinking and living "strange", but I always have to remind them that I am the true definition of an introvert and I simply just take what life gives me. Stressing over things like that is a waste of time, and not good for your well-being.

I knew by about 12 that I wanted no part in ever having a kid or in getting married.
Nothing but yelling, misery, worry, debt, anger, compromise, little time to do anything you love and mental/emotional suffering. Saw it in my parents, their parents and now in nearing mid life I've seen in it friends and coworkers too.

And all that can be avoided by simply not thinking with what's in your pants.

I'm engaged, so not married yet. My fiance wants to get legally married to me already, she says something about having the security of knowing I wont leave her, but I'm honestly not sure I want to make everything legal right now. As far as a wedding, that's at least 5 years away. Our life isn't exactly where it should be right now, we're on a tight budget, we spend our money unwisely, and we have piss poor time management skills. She's constantly bringing up having kids which pisses me off because we have nothing in order right now and a kid would just make everything worse. I think a big part of her wanting a kid right now is cuz her idiot sister who is 19 just had a baby and everyone is showering her with attention and not my fiance, try explaining that to her, she will flat out deny it and get offended. Being in a real relationship is fucking tough man, especially one where you're both trying to build something together so you can both be happy.
