My younger brother (25) is NEET. I'm talking always has been that way. After high school he didn't do anything and my parents allowed it. He stayed home all day, played games on his computer, ate food etc. We all thought that it would change, but it just never has.

Eventually, though, about 2 years ago he went to university to study engineering. However, we found out recently that he dropped out a year ago and didn't tell anyone and he pretended he was studying online. He said that he didnt like it at university because its too left wing (the guy is massively alt-right and loves Donald Trump). My parents told him he needed to get a job and he said he would but needed "time to think". That was 6 months ago.

For some reason my parents enable him. They pay for his internet connection and buy him fast food every day. Every trip to the store includes getting him soda. Also my mother babies him. She cleans his room while he plays games, will get him anything he wants from the kitchen just by hollering at her. Often hell call her in to get his phone off the bed which is right next to his computer but just a little out of arms reach. They don't want to cut off his lifestyle because they think he will hate them or lash out at their decisions and make it harder for him to fix his lifestyle but honestly I think they're just scared of how he would react. They cut off the fast food for I think 2 days after he told them he dropped out but they caved and are buying him everything again.

He's becoming aggressive when he plays video games which is something he never was before. When he loses a game he punches the walls and starts swearing at the top of his voice.

I mean if he doesn't want to go to college that's fine but he needs to at least get a job somewhere

I don't get why people like this don't at least get online degrees. I personally went to a very liberal college for my undergrad and got my BA but I am getting my MS online with Southern New Hampshire University and I LOVE it because I don't have to put up with other people. Both of my degrees are in political science and when I was an undergrad I HATED having to listen to other peoples opinions all the time but with my online degree I can just focus on my papers I have to write and not really worry about what everyone else is thinking.
