I also get an ID Tag engraved at a vending machine at walmart everytime I do it too

comes out to almost 10 bucks everytime I get another one

Every cat collar ever now has a break away buckle that releases if theres too much pressure against it, so if it gets caught on something, the cat won't get stuck or choke

but heres the thing

what is the likeliness that its not so much that my cat gets frequently stuck, but shes more just being a brat and rips it off?

I'm legit thinking of buying a small dog collar that has one of those squeeze buckles (like on a back pack)

but of course the thought has crossed my mind that maybe she IS getting stuck that often, but she has a history of being a butt

she could also just be accidentally scratching it off, but my second cat has had only one collar in the year I've owned him and thats never happened

If only there was some sort of covering you could get for their feet to stop them from clawing at their collar. Like a pair of mittens or something.

My solution is to not get them a collar because it's an indoor-only cat

Should still keep a collar on the cat if you insist on it being an outdoor cat. When people see cats without collars outside they assume they're stray or feral. While some might bring the cat to a vet to see if it's chipped, it's more likely they'll assume there's no owner.

Shave off all your cat's fur except for a thin ring around its neck.

I have a suggestion: Dont have an outdoor cat, even fixed they wreak havoc on natural ecosystems.

I have a policy of smacking all cats that enter my property with a broom, collar or otherwise. Theyre a nuisance and ruin things because theyre godless killing machines.

Wow! Don't be so mean to kitties. They can't really control their instinct to hunt and kill.

Do you keep small rodents/birds/reptiles or just plants?

I used to keep fish and frogs in a pond in my backyard when I found them eviscerated one afternoon. At first I thought it was the work of a hawk (frustrating, but unavoidable) until I realized they werent eaten at all. Just mutilated for the sake of mutilation. I found a collared cat sneaking back into my yard around my pond that night and chased it off with a couple of thwacks from the bristles.

I dont have anything in my new house yet but I want to make sure that my house is a no-go zone in the future in case I want to have frogs and a pond again.
