The good guys are pretty hard to believe in, you know? They're not nice, don't have very good morals, etc. I know they were almost certainly written that way on purpose, but when you have 2 vampire hunters that are obssessed with whores, and only keep one alive later so they can find some kind of supervampire, it doesn't exactly inspire you to root for them.

Still quite a good film, though, James Woods was pretty good, of course, as was Sheryl Lee. The film kept you guessing until the end, about whether the good guys or bad guys would win. Kind of stupid, though, the whole cliche about the Catholic church being really corrupt, hypocritical, etc. That's kinda been done to death, even back in the 90s, or whenever they was released.

By Carpenter standards, I'd say this is a mid-level film. It's no Christine, but it's certainly better than They Live.
