I went through her channel and like 80% of her content is Cyberpunk 2077 related. I kind of feel bad for her.

Cyberpunk 2077 isn't a new IP. It's based on the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop RPG from 1988. The creator of that game, Mike Pondsmith, is even collaborating with CDProjekt RED on Cyberpunk 2077.

Sometimes a game just can't work in 3rd person. Might have something to do with the character animation and how they interact with the world or some other variables.

It may depend on how far along the game actually is. Sure they showed a demo to press but that can be cobbled together for E3 to showcase certain things. They didn't give a release date or even a release window. CDPR tends to listen to people and it's mostly negative about not even having the option.

I imagine if they have time they'd probably at least put in a toggle but who knows. She did start off saying she has to see how it plays first so maybe (hopefully) if they never add the option she can still play.

I feel like, on PC at least, someone (or a team of people) will mod in a third person camera. It might not look good, but I think it'll happen regardless if for no other reason than a lot of people seem to want (or need) the game in third person.

As for consoles, well...I haven't watched her videos, but if she's a console only player that could be a problem if CDPR doesn't add a third person camera themselves.

I might sound ignorant, but what's the difference between 3rd person and first person shooter if you have vision issues?
(I also have -4 on both of my eyes and basically can't play without contacs/glasses)

They want you to have that claustrophobic feeling in crowds and they mentioned how modifiers are seen. Apparently your hud and visual modifications will be very important in first person.

If they have animations done it would't be hard. The models are already there since characters are highly customizable as well as being able to be seen in the world through dialogue and cutscenes and possibly reflective surfaces as well.

A third person camera mod will all hinge on whether or not they do animations for that perspective even though it may be in First Person.

If the game has been developed completely from a FP perspective, it might not be as easy as just throwing in a TP option

Intellectual Property.

K181 thought Cyberpunk 2077 was a new property created by CDProjekt RED, which it isn't. It's based on an existing property, Cyberpunk 2020 (much like the Witcher games were based on the Witcher books).
