Imagine if the first pokemon game on Switch is a game where you have all 7 regions, and you can start in any region and go to the other 6. but the game costs $100

They weren't even able to properly implement Kanto in GSC/HGSS without it feeling like an empty husk of what it was and without you steamrolling everything

How would this work with all regions

this is my main issue with more regions

and also little incentive to try other pokemon. like, you can only have 6 at a time, so maybe ~10 - 15 throughout the game depending on HM, gym battles, and early game before you get the ones you want total.
everytime I start a new region there are pokemon i've missed out on because there just isn't enough time to try them out. a 7 region game would be even worse

but if they pulled it off somehow, i'm not gonna complain

Only after it had been out for a while and I'd heard from enough people I take seriously that it actually fleshed them all out instead of just making Kanto feel legit and the rest half assed.

So in theory yes, but in practice, hell no.

I'd buy it, but not be happy about it. Couldn't even finish Ultra Moon because it was the EXACT same as Sun, but with really minor differences in Trials and a few extra fights with those guys in masks. Never gotten bored of a Pokemon game in my life, and I've played all the remakes and stuff, but this one was just insufferable for me. Also my team was HOT garbage
