the last episode would have the White Walkers defeat the last stand of humans in some big battle. and then in the final scene, the Night King walks over to the Iron Throne....stretches out his hand and touches it with one finger....and the throne shatters under his power. then he smiles and cut to credits

The last season has so much to explain I would be surprised if they didn't win out of nowhere to save on budget.

not sure that would happen but I've been calling the Iron Throne not surviving the series since the season 6 finale. Cersei is the mad queen, she'll burn the city before she lets someone else have it

I'm not even sure how I want it to end now. Always liked Littlefinger completing the climb up the chaos ladder all the way to the iron throne. It was always a long shot, but D&D butchered him. No reason he should have been in Winterfell once the Starks all got back. He's screwed that family over and over again. As soon as he saw the Starks had a wizard and an assassin in their ranks, he should have ran the hell away. Nah though, D&D just have him chill, try to pull one mediocre trick on the Stark sisters and die a pathetic death.

Always found the Night King and white walkers, etc, to be the least interesting part of GoT. They're just a less interesting WoW scourge or something.
I prefer the politics and the, you know, characters with actual personalities.
