With one of my friends for example, she is dating this guy who graduated high school before either of us were born (and he has kids somewhat close to us in age).

I don't know if I would date a person 10 or more years older than me.

My husband is 13 years older than me. If we were to divorce though, Id try to date someone with less of an age gap, like 8 years or less. But I wouldnt close the door on larger either.

Im in my 20s. Id go up to 50s to date if theyre an exceptional person. Though past early 40s would probably not marry (thats not in my short list of goals though).

Depends and nobody can really say until they are faced with it.

You don't really choose who you end up dating or in a relationship with. Not most of the time anyway, and if you meet someone who you wouldn't normally date but end up clicking with them, your rules often go out the window.

I've kinda gone through that myself recently. I spent a long time in a very unpleasant relationship with a really selfish person which eventually ended.

I always said I'd never date anyone more than about 5 years younger or older than me. But, after that relationship ended I started to get closer to my Spanish tutor, sorta talking more personally and gradually we started talking every day. We didn't really realise until it was too late that we were pretty much seeing each other.

She's 20, I'm 36. She isn't exactly typical of most 20 year olds though, she graduated high school 2 years early and went to uni. She's much closer to me than other 20 year olds and neither of us look our ages so it isn't uncomfortable.

I always said I wouldn't date someone with an age gap, but here I am doing just that and she's a wonderful person who I have a lot of respect for. She's done more in her life than most people I know and she's ridiculously smart. You can't put people in boxes.

So, yeah, that's my opinion on this stuff.

I agree with this (am 31 as well), although I did date a woman who was around 9 years older than me when I was 29. I have also been very attracted to a woman who is around 51 or 52. Both were Asian though so they tend to age much more gracefully/stay at a more attractive weight than some others.

For the most part, women seem to have a much shorter "prime" which makes it awkward when you're getting older. Right now I am dating a girl who is four years younger than me, but going anything below that makes me feel like a creepy old man hitting on a kid almost. Up until 25 a lot of women seem like they're still fresh out of high school.
