The mid-late 90s for me. Transitioning from Genesis games to PS1 games was pure bliss. I used to come home, watch cartoons until 5:00 pm, then play PS1 games for 2-3 hours until parents came home.

Probably the PS1 era at the time. Admittedly, the games were rather rough round the edges, both in terms of graphics and gameplay, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a blast. It was an exciting time with plenty of experimental games, new ways to play, etc. The devs were still finding their feet with 3D games.
In hindsight, I think the SNES and PS2 gens had better games, but the PS1 gen was magical and I was at the perfect age to really enjoy it. All 3 gens were great though, and part of my personal "golden age". ... Copied to Clipboard!

Most of my video game nostalgia is from the late 90s, but the mid 2000s were the most fun playing Halo LAN parties.

It depends.
I have two: from the snes era to ps1. The jump in graphics and capability of the machines was astounding. Now. I'd been outta gaming for almost ten years, so my backlog is huge but is chalked full of awesome games and experiences. --- I wrote a horror short story collection.
