Which is good since I just moved to Vegas. But I seriously have not won anything over like 20 bucks since I first moved here
I don't really go a lot. But we've had family and friends visit us 4 times already so we go out

Tonight for example I took out 200. Played 100 on slots on a 75 cent spin and lost it all in 10 minutes. Played 50 on blackjack lost all hands in a row out in 2 minutes. Took last 50 on roulette lost it all in 3 spins. I literally won nothing once in 3 games

That's literally every trip to a casino has been for me since September

I don't care if I lose honestly, it's when I don't even have fun. If I'm up and down for hours and end up losing whatever. But when I lose 100 dollars so fast the server didn't get us one drink. Lame

I have won between 600 and $7,200 at a casino.

I have also walked in with less than $200, won $900 right off the bat and gambled every bit of it in about an hour before walking out and feeling like shit.

Gambling is only fun when you win.

Winning reinforces a feeling of invincibility.

Losing is gambling's way of letting you know you are not superman.

Do yourself a favore, stop playing before you actually win your money back or worse, win more than your money.

From there it's just a downward slope.

If you live in vegas, don't gamble or you won't be living there for long.

Rule Number 1: The House always wins

Rule Number 2: The house wants you to think you can cheat or beat the system.

Rule Number 3: Anything you win will be lost 3 times over.

Rule Number 4: Don't gamble unless you can play 20 dollars and just have a good time with that. You will always lose more than you win otherwise.

Long term everyone loses. They dont build those fancy hotels by giving away money. Anyone who tells you they only win are full of shit.

Even the top poker pros are degenerates who lose a ton. Phil Ivey once lost his life savings in cash games in a year, difference is those maniacs dont care.

Then go to horse races or something for entertainment gambling.

At 70k a year, you really don't need a $300 win at any point in your life.

There is zero entertainment in gambling without risks.

If you keep gambling, you'll recieve exactly what I've told you you'll recieve. The Casinos will have the majority of your fun money.

You live in Nevada? Instead of wasting money gambling, buy yourself a nice truck that won't get stuck in sand, then drive around and youtube abandoned places that you find.

I watch a guy on youtube that does this, and he makes good money video taping his journies.

Either way, stop gambling before you wind up another tool or slave to the system.

Phil Ivey also got caught cheating in two casinos and got sued for $10 million per casino.

He'll never get another WSOP bracelet

Well speed limit in your state is like 90, so yeah a mustang is nice for the road (They are shit sports cars though....a 2006 mustang can be bought for less than 5k, for a reason)

But if you want thrills, I completely endorse exploring your state. I've gone there a few times to check out abandoned towns. I went to Lake Mead, enjoyed the Hoover dam, then came back through Tonapah. Also checking around extraterrestrial highway is cool and I tried to go to area 51 but got pulled over by some commandos in a toyata tundra.

Anyways, lots of cool stuff in your state, stop wasting money and time at tourist traps like the casinos.

I will also point this out.

You said in your topic title that you are learning to dislike gambling.

When people came in and agreed with you, showing you reasons why you should dislike gambling,
you defended yourself and justified your reasoning with your budget.

This is exactly what casinos want and the first phase is already setting in. You are of two minds on gambling already.

By getting defensive, you are taking the first step to gambling addiction. The next step is nobody needs to know why you gamble, it's none of our business. Expect your losses to be bigger at this phase.
There are more steps, but the first two should be shown to you so you can see wher this is going.

One last thing, dune buggies would also be a great investment for desert exploration.

I worked in a casino for a while. Then retail.

Every time I see some person or article crying about people being screwed over by the government or some shifty bank. Being scammed. You know the type. I just think. The general public? The average schmuck? You mean like all those idiot sheep running around spending $400 on a pair of jeans and thinking they're getting some great deal? Like the zombified smoke stacks of human despair that sit in front of those slot machines for hours throwing away thousands a day? You want me to feel sorry for them? They're idiots. Let them be screwed over by whoever. They do it to themselves all the time anyway.

This isn't true anymore. The days of counting cards in blackjack are over. Dealers shuffle cards after every one game now, and sometimes even deal the players next to you their cards face down so that you cannot get enough information on the table to predict what the dealer's face down card is.

Sorry to break this bubble, but I was and have always been a blackjack player. That's how I walked away with $7,200 one night.

Fucking $1000 bets and $2000 double downs.

No, he hasn't lost his life savings. This is bullshit. He has so much money, he walked into both casinos that he cheated however; asked for a million in comped cash, a specific used deck of playing cards (so that he could memorize which cards were what by shaving the sides and corners of the card over a 8 hour period) and was caught doing it, not once, but twice.

He was fined $10 million from both places. If he can afford this, I am pretty sure he has money still.

This is the core of this thread.
I work a casino, well a shitty update NY one.
Either way, the addiction is always the same.
At some point I realized it is not even about the money. It is about the rush of the win.
Chasing that feeling, as though it were a hit of cocaine.
I've seen people play a game as their jackpot from a moment before was being paid.
I've seen people win $10,000 plus, and give it all back within a month.

I don't have the gambling gene, and I thank God every day for that.
Because gambling is a nasty drug, and even more so because society condones it.

Get decent at poker and play 1/2 cash games instead. At least youre not going against the house.

Play tight and just hammer down when you get great cards/hands.

Playing table games is just banging your head against the wall. But i say this as someone who plays craps and roulette. I love craps and i love the thrill of hitting a number in roulette and making $700 on a $20 bet.

Money comes and goes. Dont let It consume you.

You can also bet on sports. At least betting the spread or over/under is 50:50 bet. It also makes watching a game youd normally have no interest in quite thrilling.

Learn to poker. You can make $200 last a long time even if you do lose it all, and there's no house edge.
