Board 8 > Does anybody have any experience with streaming or recording with the xbone?

so basically I'm now trying to record footage of me playing fucking dumbass Gunsmoke

but jesus christ, I don't know what to do here

it was easy on the PS4 to do this

I don't have any capture card stuff or anything like that, so what I did was just stream footage to my PS4 and then sued a third party app to DL the video and then I make my edits and shit

and I found out that Capcom Arcade Cabinet is backwards compatible with the Xbone, so I thought I'd try it like that

however, there doesn't seem to be a way to do this on the bone. at least, not that I know of

theres something here called "Mixer" and people seem to be streaming using this

BUT yea, what the fuck is Mixer, can I even use anything to DL my videos off of it?

I was gonna give it the ol college try but it doesn't even let me sign up for it! I'm trying to sign up but it doesn't let me go beyond the

"I'm new to mixer

I already have a mixer account"

screen. it doesn't let me pick either one

so thats out

can someone give me any suggestions?

Just double-tap the Guide button, then press Menu (select) to bring up capture options.

You can set it to record forward or back from that point.

it loads it to some microsoft sever on it's own media player and it removes the sound

It says all twitch streamers can download their own previous broadcast directly from the twitch website although depending on your level of Twitch account you can't download until 2 weeks after your broadcast and it auto deletes after 60 days

I feel like they keep changing how that shit works. I remember recording some Killer Instinct ranked matches back in 2014 to send in for one of those free pin challenges and I got them to the pin people SOMEHOW, but I can't figure out how to do what I did then anymore.

It's also bullshit if you just want to tweet a quick clip of gameplay. On PS4 it just embeds the video into your tweet and that's that.

Eh, I have a capture card for all my recording shenanigans.

Mixer is basically Microsoft's version of Twitch though, designed specifically for Xbox One and PC games. I have an account, though I've never used it, mostly just to reserve the username.

Twitch streaming and game capture are not the same thing. OneDrive is a cloud storage solution where you can upload game captures to. Or you can stream from Xbox to PC using the Xbox App in the Windows Store, and it's a lot easier and existed before any kind of streaming on the PS4 so I'm not sure why you are having issues finding it. Also your reasons for saying "Twitch sucks" don't seem to make any sense -- you can download a Twitch video without issue and if it has lost sound, you've done something wrong.

Little pricey if you're trying to reduce the budget on this. But it's INSANELY easy to use.

Select input, resolution, framerate, and boom. You're recording. Pass through to a TV also has 0 lag. It also functions as a converter from Component to HDMI since the only Video out is HDMI.
