My uncle had visited Zimbabwe the other year:

Well, the Zimbabwe trip was an adventure into discovering how blest we Westerners are,in relation to almost all of the other planetary denizens. I've become so accustomed to such infrastructure basics as constant electricity and water, that to arrive in a capital full of potholes and be greeted with no lights in residences because of load shedding was a reality check for me.

But I am curious to see what the other countries are like.

I'd also wanna visit: Ethiopia, Kenya, and South Africa.

Other than that no not really, and the first two barely count as Africa.

I've been to Botswana and Zambia, would gladly go back to either. Was supposed to have been in Namibia the past two weeks, but that didn't work out.

I was born in Kenya, I lived in Nigeria for two years. I've visited South Africa, Tanzania and Botswana.

I'd definitely recommend Kenya and South Africa. The others perhaps less so. Africa is a beautiful and amazing place and tends to change people's lives once they've seen it, but you have to be careful.

I have been to Kenya and Tanzania. The urban areas are dangerous as fuck for a white person, but the Nation Parks were amazing.

For anyone considering travel to South Africa, my Zambian friends were insistent that it's totally fine to go to Durban, Praetoria, or Cape Town, but you should stay the hell away from Johannesburg unless you're trying to get, at best, mugged.

Lagos. I moved to the US when I was 6 though, so didn't really grow up there.
Only been back once actually, and that was last year, when I was 26

Haha. It's different for sure. When I was there last year, like in many other places,it seems your success really depends on your family. You have the rich parts of Lagos where you don't worry much about the shitty electricity, you have a driver, security, etc. But there's the really bad spots where basic amenities are just missing.

I'm in the US through that diversity visa lottery program, so pretty much just luck.

But if not, we'd have probably ended up in the UK

I went to Morocco last year, had a great time and would love to return some day, but Africa is so big and diverse the next time I head over there it will probably be a different region.
