This has always bugged me ever since I was in high school in the mid 1990s.

Why even bother with dodgeball, even kickball in P.E. class?

Kickball was the same as softball/baseball except you kicked a hard rubber ball to score homeruns.

Dodgeball is pretty much the greatest thing ever as a kid growing up, you got a bully picking on you? Pelt that mother f***** with a ball right in the Goddamn face

Kickball is usually done because it is much cheaper than baseball which requires gloves/bats/balls/bases for an entire team vs just needing a ball and something for bases for kickball. It also requires less practice to play to be able to do something and put the ball in play (kicking a ball on the ground vs hitting a pitch.)

Dodgeball is brilliant, I don't know why they don't make a bigger thing of it tbh. Surely it's a PE teacher's dream, because it gets everyone fit, and people actually WANT to play it.

I understand sit ups, push ups and once in awhile pull ups in P.E and then theres the athletics textbook which is called Health or whatever.

But Dodgeball you barely get any exercise from it anyway. Heck in my P.E. class we had archery with either the hard plastic arrows or real ones. Come to think of it while we did have regular bows that were way too tough to pull the strings, I think there was at least one crossbow too I think.

Dodgeball and Kickball were the best!

At our school they did a version of Dodgeball which used the entire gym hall and had about 16 balls in play, so you were forced to do a lot of running in that. You were allowed to kick the ball at people, too, so you had to be seriously quick on your feet

we had old hard rubber kickballs. Period.

Like I said, toes would get sore or broken from kicking the damn balls
