If that were the case itd probably be more ethical to just eat a slab of meat rather than eat something alive.

Still eat vegetables, if you're not eating them directly then the meat you eat is eating a lot more of 'em and that's just causing more suffering

Cannibalize themselves.

They would eat Soylent Powder or some kinda mush that gives them all needed nutrition without the feeling or hurting others. Most only do it to give themselves an illusion of helping the planet or animals or whatnot.
