Duke being used almost as commentary on a 2020 society would be awesome. Have him bust in during peace negotiations between the UN and aliens with proof that they are full of shit

Gearbox should have never attempted to make battleborn, and should have stuck with the shoot and loot genre they made famous.

People said the same about Wolfenstein. Especially after that weak attempt to revive it with that mediocre reboot in 2009.
But thanks to Machine Games, in association with Bethesda, they brought new life back into the series with a new reboot and The New Colossus is definitely one of my favorite games this year.

Speaking of Machine Games, I discovered the key people at that studios made The Darkness (the first game) and Escape from Butcher Bay. Shit, that explains everything. The point is, put Duke in the hands of competent developers and something great might come from it.

I read this post but the only thing that actually stuck out to me was Escape from Butcher Bay...

That was such an amazing game...

That's how I felt about that and The Darkness. So it should've came to no surprise to me why I liked the new Wolfenstein games so much since these same guys were responsible for those two titles as well.

I like first-person shooters and I like games with great stories. So when the two come together, it fills me with joy.

I heard 2009 Wolfenstein was actually good, and closer to the spirit of the series than these flashy reboots.

I didn't play it but I played Singularity which was by the same guys and it was great.

It was meh. I remember being really excited for it too and being really let down. It tried to be some flashier, current version of Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
At least the newer ones have their own identity in their own right.
Singularity was just okay, mainly because it was clearly inspired by BioShock (gameplay wise).
