Bud if you think Star Wars is the most recent series to rely on an expository wall of text you are sorely mistaken. That godawful Alone in the Dark movie had one. So did Judge Dredd. So did the recent Les Miserables movie. That's just off the top of my head, but I know there are a bunch more.

As much as I liked Bladerunner 2049, I was a bit bugged when they did it. I know it was most likely paying to the original film, but I didn't like it when they did it either.
