These types of people increase development time and costs by ungodly amounts to satisfy their giant egos. They have no regard for the consumer and would gladly take 30 years and god knows how much money (enough to bankrupt the company, for sure) to release a game that serves no purpose but as an ego stroke to the creator rather than act like a professional and release a quality product in a timely manner at an affordable price.

Just look at what happened with Metal Gear Solid - poor Konami is left cleaning up the wreckage Kojima left behind and is trying to get the series back on track
