I don't see how anyone could let themselves become addicted to drugs. I mean, I get you're screwed when you're already hooked, but why even start? Couldn't you have chosen some other vice? Why not get addicted to cheese or something instead?

Uh... drugs literally have chemical properties causing a physical addiction to the substance which causes harm if not satiated. Also, drugs make you feel really good. They're so good they'll ruin your life.

I am not an alcoholic but I love to drink...like a lot. Most nights I crave a few shots but have enough discipline to have a glass of wine with my dinner.

I let alcohol scare me off every ither drug. I mean if alcohol is this nice and its legal, how much worse would coke, meth, weed be?

I have never tried any other drug, I have one vice, and thats enough for a lifetime.

Many heroin addicts for example became heroin addicts after they realized that the painkillers they were legitimately prescribed felt real good. But the legitimate stuff is expensive and hard to get in adequate numbers so they turn to the cheap street heroin.

I'm an alcoholic but it's under control to twice a month. In the dark days it use to be 8 liters of vodka a week. You don't start with the mindset your gonna be an addict. At first it's fun, it's like your best friend but then it changes slowly over time until you don't really realize the hole you've dug yourself until you wake up one day and discover you literally can't stop even if you wanted too.

Nobody thinks they are gonna get addicted until it bites them in the ass
