We got lotta tabasco peppers, thinking of making my own. Non fermented version.

I've already made my own Sriracha which has turned out fucking awesome.

If I'm not mistaken, Tabasco brand is just peppers, salt and vinegar.

Yep that's it pretty much.

But I think they ferment it but I'm not gonna do that.

Nope, but they're in the same family as tomatoes so make it like you'd make a tomato sauce.

Still, it's hard to not have them ferment considering that vinegar is an important part of the recipe.

Um...no you dont make it like tomato sauce its nothing the same.

Some recipies call for letting the chili vinegsr mash ferment a month before juicing it. Im doing the boil chilies soft in vinegsr and strain method.

Eh, I wasn't clear on why I said that. I meant that you should cook the peppers in the oven at a low temp for awhile, like how tomatoes are done before making sauce. After that, your method is fine. I wasn't aware that they suggested fermenting them for so long though so, my bad.

Why would you put tomatoes in the oven tho? Unless you roast them for some smokiness, then peeling thing you can just do quick in boiling water. And peeling chilies is not needed like you might do with peppers. You could roast the chilies to give the Tabasco a smoky flavor.
But I don't want that.

Um here a bottle is like $5

And home made stuff is always worth it. The Tabasco peppers are home grown.

My mom does gardening, among it has some chilies. I really like Havanna peppers, they taste like Habanero but not as strong. Really tasty when dried and then chopped rough to put in soups for example.

All hot sauce is not Tabasco sauce, Tabasco sauce is a specific brand

All the shit that goes into the actual brand name sauce is grown on Avery Island here in Louisiana, you just can't grow peppers in your backyard google hot sauce recipes and expect similar results

Tabasco sauce is made of Tabasco peppers. We have Tabasco peppers and the chilies raw have some of the recognizable flavors I taste in Tabasco sauce, so I'm sure I can make something similar.

If it were that easy everyone would be doing it and the McIlhenny family wouldn't be billionaires.

The soil on Avery Island is what makes the peppers grown there have unique flavor and unless you have similar soil in Finland or wherever you come from, you are not going to get very similar results

I said similar and not the same.

I've made my own sriracha and it's not the same but similar. But better than the store bought one.

That's nice, but you just cannot compare Tabasco sauce to Sriracha.

They're two completely different types of hot sauces with two completely different production methods. Tons of the process of making Tabasco sauce is still done by hand here while aside from the peppers being picked every part of Sriracha being made is automated. Apples and oranges.

You're from fucking Denmark or some shit, quit talking like you know hot sauce

Tabasco is a sriracha without garlic and sugar and more vinegar and liquidy and another kind of peppers. So pretty much the same.

It's amazing that you don't get the concept of homemade items. Shit. I've made those cheddar biscuits from Red Lobster at home before. Obviously not the same exact thing, but that's not the fucking point.
