Never had SSRI before.

I have Escilatopram. Took 5mg yesterday and 5mg today (2 hours ago).

I dunno if I'm imagining things, but I feel odd.

Do you take them once a day? I start feeling the effects of my meds about a day later after I take them if I've been off of them.

Yeah, I definitely think you can notice something even from the very first dose. You won't magically feel better (that's the part that takes a month or more), but you will definitely feel a bit "off" for a while until you get used to it/stabilize.

Typically it takes a few days (3+) for the levels to have changed enough to be noticeable.
Any feeling before that is usually the placebo effect. You know this medicine is intended to help, so it does. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's a good thing for people on SSRI to feel it earlier rather than later.

I could be wrong, my experience was with Prozac.

I feel like my emotions are dampened. I try to feel something...but it's getting out of reach, it's harder to reach it.

And I just feel....I dunno, cloudy

This early, I want to say it's the placebo effect, but the nature of SSRIs and brain chemicals means that it's going to be different for everyone.

Ok now I think I'm starting to feel some effects. Have this strange very mild headache and nausea. And no it's not hangover.

It generally takes 2 to 6 weeks depending on the SSRI to reach therapeutic range. I doubt you'd feel something on day 2.

That's normal I think, anti-depressants do tend to dampen your emotions a bit. I wouldn't think you'd be noticing it that quick though. It might be that you know that is what they do, so you're getting it as a placebo effect.

:v but keep taking them, they'll help you.
